The most important thing to look for in a pet carrier is that it’s been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and will fit under your plane seat. Look for one with a sturdy door latch. The latch should be easy to use, so you don’t have to struggle when you’re trying to get your pet in or out of the carrier.
Make sure it has good ventilation and easy-to-grip handles on top and bottom of the door, as well as along both sides. Your pet needs fresh air, so make sure its travel cage has vents on all four sides that allow airflow into and out of its cage at all times during your trip or driving around town if they’re not flying with you! Also consider getting one with wheels attached, just in case your plane doesn’t have enough space near their gate (or even if it does), then you can wheel him through instead! Finally: make sure he has his own seatbelt strap inside his carryall so nothing falls onto him while he’s sleeping peacefully away from home.
